Rockin at the 2i’s

(Written by Wee Willie Harris)

I go every night, I make myself some tea
I rush into the bedroom , put on my old blue jeans
Back down the stairs, I said goodbye to mum
She looks at me and says ‘Where you going son?’

Goin’ rockin’ at the 2i’s
Well, rockin at the 2i’s
Yeah, rockin at the 2i’s
Well, rockin at the 2i’s
Well, rockin at the 2i’s
We won’t be home tonight

Now, rushed out the gate, went walking down the road
I got up to the bus stop, put on my overcoat
Along came a bus, a number 54
When I got inside, they were rockin’ on the floor

Goin’ rockin’ at the 2i’s
Well, rockin at the 2i’s
Yeah, rockin at the 2i’s
We won’t be home tonight

I out picked a chick, she was the most
We rocked and we rolled till we lost that ghost
We danced and we jived the whole night through
I lost her heel on my blue suede shoe

Goin’ rockin’ at the 2i’s
Well, rockin at the 2i’s
Yeah, rockin at the 2i’s
Well, rockin at the 2i’s
Well, rockin at the 2i’s
We won’t be home tonight
