Reflect on Tim Arnold’s new album ‘You Are For Me’
The new Tim Arnold Album ‘You Are For Me’ follows on from last year’s album, ‘I Am For You’ and again tackles the theme of love as Tim gives us a comprehensive collection of love songs about past, present and future loves. But we find Tim in a more upbeat positive place and he takes us on a melodic “journey”, from the opening sounds of a train travelling along the track on “About you” the sense of travel is ever present throughout the album, in this almost autobiographical album (Tim always writes songs for himself first, giving them a strong sense of self), the feeling of travel and search for love in all four corners of the globe is strongly evident. The album itself was written in Los Angeles, Spain, Canada and his home town London and the influences of these places are strongly felt within the tracks.
Tim is an accomplished songwriter and that is evident throughout the album. Underpinned with a strong pop feel, although he relives the sound of his previous alter-ego ‘The Soho Hobo‘ in ‘Two of Her Favourite Things’, Tim tackles the art of love in an upbeat melody driven pop sound, only allowing the pain of lost love becoming apparent in ‘A Page in Your Parade’.
Tim has given us a perfect summer album, full of longing, love and the joys of summer. From the content of this latest piece of work, Tim is obviously in a happy place and on a journey, which he takes the listener along with him throughout the album, from Hollywood to the Isle of Wight. It’s certainly a journey worth taking.
