Calling all couples in Manchester! On Sunday June 17th, singer songwriter Tim Arnold and photographer Andy Fallon will film a new version of What Love Would Want. The new video will feature couples from Manchester and the surrounding area to accompany a new version of the song. To participate with your partner in this video on Sunday 17th June, please contact [email protected]
THE PROJECT
‘What Love Would Want’ is a song by UK solo artist Tim Arnold (watch the original video here). It’s also a multimedia creative project encompassing a music video directed by Arnold and a series of photographic portraits by UK photographer Andy Fallon that celebrate the diversity and inclusivity of love, all inspired by the song.
The birth of the project began on a single day in London’s Soho, April 2017 which welcomed over thirty couples – straight, gay, lesbian, trans, mixed race, interracial – and of all ages, including actor Stephen Fry and his husband. The song and the video have since gone on to support Amnesty International’s campaign Love Is A Human Right. A second version of the video was made in Toronto and released this year.
This Summer, the project will be re-created live on stage at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall to conclude in the evening with a live performance of the song by Tim, a chamber choir and world class performance artist, and David Bowie mentor, Lindsay Kemp.
TAKE PART
We are looking for REAL couples in Manchester from the LGBTQI community as well as straight, mixed race and interracial couples of all ages who would like to take part in this new music video. This is about inclusivity. Integration – not separation.
If you are in a couple and would like to celebrate your relationship in this beautiful art project, please send a photo of yourself and your partner to [email protected] with WHAT LOVE WOULD WANT MANCHESTER in the subject, so that we may repeat building up our collage of love. If you know a couple you would like to put forward for this project, please do pass on this information.
You and your partner would only need to attend the shoot for 15 minutes at a time of your choosing between 11am and 6pm on Sunday 17th June at Manchester Bridgewater Hall. Tim Arnold will film your ‘moving’ portrait for the video and photographer Andy Fallon will photograph your still portrait.
What Love Would Want is 100% independent and funded entirely by love and the belief that love is a human right.
